Christopher Lane has been the Executive Director of Opera New Brunswick since 2006. Prior to joining Opera New Brunswick, Mr. Lane worked for eight years with Orchestra London, including positions as Manger of Audience Relations and Marketing Manager.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New Brunswick Competitive Festival of Music and the Royal Canadian College of Organists (Saint John Centre). His previous community involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Chamber Choir and London Pro Musica.

As a performer, Mr. Lane has appeared in both concert and opera presentations throughout New Brunswick and Southwestern Ontario. He made his professional operatic debut with Opera New Brunswick in Carmen (2000). He appeared on several occasions with Orchestra London, most notably in St. John's Passion and Rigoletto, both under the baton of celebrated Canadian conductor Timothy Vernon. He also performed with Musical Theatre Productions in Ruddigore and HMS Pinafore. He remains active as a recitalist, voice teacher and coach, and as Director of Music at St. David's United Church.

A native of Saint John, New Brunswick, he is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with an Artist's Diploma in Voice and Opera Performance. In 2003, Mr. Lane completed the three week intensive Income Managers Program through the University of Waterloo Centre for Cultural Management and Genovese, Vanderhoof and Asssociates. In January 2008, Mr. Lane was named one of New Brunswick's 21 Leaders for the 21st Century.
